“There is no evil without good,” so says the ancient wisdom.
Those who have read the book Dialogue avec le Cœur de France [Conversations with the Heart of France] are aware that Notre-Dame de Paris is the Heart of France. And the Heart, as is known, labours day and night, never slacking off, even for a moment, in its sacrificial work.
Thus, over many millennia, it has become exhausted from excessive energy giving, and has practically never received any gifts in response. People come to the Cathedral only to take, and very few leave at the Altar a feeling of heartfelt gratitude — more often it is only the bitterness of their troubles and sorrows.
Therefore, the element of Fire alone can make up for these deadly losses. While the physical flame is capable of destroying the constructions of human hands, it still attracts the spatial Cosmic Fire, which incinerates invisible destructive structures and immerses everything in a gigantic Font, resulting in a Fiery Baptism.
The Heart of France has experienced a kind of crucifixion and ascent to the stake, like Joan of Arc — along with many other saints and innocently condemned people… And now the resurrected Heart of France, preserving in its womb the crown of thorns of Jesus Christ, is ready to continue its Sacred Labour in a new round.
And for us, mere mortals, it is high time to think seriously about how carefully we treat not only each other, but also the countries in which we live — especially their Hearts, for these Hearts are beating for the life of entire peoples united within their borders. And if we have hearts, then let us pray for the Heart not only of our own country, but also for the Hearts of the lands of our brethren.
